I really did not want to do this but after discussing with our Director and Safety Officer and others it has been decided, because of the weather forecasts that the May Ride is canceled. This is the first time in the 16 years that I have either organized or helped organize this ride that we have had to cancel. We often hit a rainy patch for an hour or two but this looks like it’s calling for rain on the whole trip. Having about 30 bikes on the road could be a safety hazard as well.
The hotel has a 24 hr cancellation policy so you are covered there. Anyone that wants to do the ride anyway is welcome to do so. I was very excited to do my first trike trip but you can’t change the weather.
I encourage you to ride and have fun anyway.
