Chapter Meeting

An important Chapter meeting will be Wednesday, September 16th in the Hagen Room, upstairs at Barnes. Doors open at 6:30pm for socializing meeting to follow. As we have now done a couple of times, this will be a pizza night so Sharon Hatter will need to have an RSVP if you are coming so that she orders enough. The business portion of the meeting is a follow-up to Chapter Director, Doug Grant’s email from August 24th. The current Executive met on September 2nd to discuss the future of the Chapter and determine how many Executive vacancies there will be as this season ends.  In order to uphold the HOG Charter, the Primary Officer positions of Director, Assistant Director, Secretary and Treasurer must be filled. In addition, there are several discretionary positions that we have always filled to make for a well rounded Chapter and create minimal work for the entire Executive.  This past year several of these positions remained vacant meaning members of the current Executive were doing double, triple and in one case quadruple duty. As Doug mentioned, this is just unreasonable and frankly does not serve anyone well. Also, filling the Executive with active, engaged and enthusiastic individuals is only half the equation. We also need active, engaged and enthusiastic Members to support the Executive and the Chapter events. The following are the Executive positions that are becoming vacant or were vacant this year.
